The National Certificate in Building, Construction and Allied Trades Skills Level 2 is offered to students in Year 12. The Level 2 qualification builds on the skills developed in Level 1.
The qualification covers skills in communication, literacy, maths, quality standards, workshop procedures, freehand sketching, job specifications, health and safety, materials knowledge (including timber, metal, plastic, glass and rubber), and hand tools, power tools, and fixed machinery.

It will help you understand the structure of the qualification and the units which need to be selected as part of the complusory, core complusory, elective and core elective sections. Some of the unit and achievement standards that are part of the qualification but not contained in the BCATS domain already have resources that are being used as part of the classroom curriculum. Where possible, we have provided examples and ideas that will help you deliver them with a construction focus. We will continue to develop our resources in the future.
